Occasionally, I write about clothes... .(scribbled at 23:16 )

It's time to get over the trauma of the Olympic Torch winning Design of the Year 2012 last night. I'm going to write about clothes now as a distraction method.

3D Flower Dress; Topshop; £75

I'm moving house weekend after next, which is beautifully exciting. Au Revoir East London, although you've been nice and edgy whilst it's lasted, I actually cannot wait to discover the north. This is all so fresh and exciting!

Come to think of it... I can now tick off that I've lived in South/East/North of the city now. Which just leaves the West End, which (let's face it) ain't gonna happen. Even with the cheeky little pay rise from work this week, I accepted the fact that I will never afford a flat there a looooong time ago.

As I'm getting a new wardrobe to mark this momentous occasion, would this mean that it's time to buy new clothes too?

This has got Louis Vuitton SS2012 stamped all over it; I am lusting for that white lace floral detailing!

(and for £20 cheaper, here is a rather similar Warehouse version: )
ASOS Fascinator; £15

Okay, I actually might buy this. Last year's office Christmas party was hat themed, so perhaps it's worth investing in for future shenanigans? And fascinators are totally do-able, and this would be a nod to my I'm-Going-To-Run-A-Patisserie-In-Neuilly aspiration.

And this could be worth getting too (see below). It's a nod to the Gatsby theme, but Warehouse has kept it fresh with the modern print, and not being too unflattering with their dropped waist. Also, it means that summer will now be flapper-dress-friendly, meaning I can now get away with lusting for Tobey Maguire 6 months earlier!

Also, I've noticed that Topshop have started using this print in some of their recent designs, which is evoking a fair bit of Fauvism here. Especially Matisse's Harmony in Red painting from 1908.

And for those who just can't get enough of Robert Delaunay's input into Cubism, do your homage with these rather tasty leggings from Urban Outfitters!

Also, click here for a peplum dress I've had my eye on this week. On 99% of occasions, I would be beating the peplum trend off with a stick, but I really like this one from Asos; the additional Peplum fabric wouldn't make too big a difference on my already-the-width-of-tate-modern-hips.

But what I'm actually on the hunt is a lost dress. I bought this incredibly beautiful dress from Zara a few months back, that had Stella McCartney written all over it. One shouldered, subtle polka dot detailing on the sheer sleeve, it was actually gorgeous. But I have actually misplaced since it was wore last in Heebie Jeebies, Liverpool. So I'm gutted, coupled with the fact that the Osso Chair didn't win DOTY 2012. Again.
