Britain Creates 2012 .(scribbled at 14:07 )

The Victoria & Albert Museum in South Kensington is undoubtedly one of my favourite places in London. Even since the Heatherwick Studio, Designing the Extraordinary show opened in May I've been around 4 times. But I finally got round to taking my camera when I was there for a meeting last Wednesday morning...

Not entirely sure what Charles Rudabaker would make
of these ones outside the V&A's main entrance...
Just seeing this installation outside makes me incredibly excited for the forthcoming London Design Festival in September. Here was their installation outside the façade last Autumn- it looked brilliant! I think at the time I was on a bit of a high when I'd taken this photo; I'd just seen their Postmodernism exhibition for the first time and seeing so much Memphis design in one room had made me a little giddy with joy...
Also on at the V&A, is a relatively small show as part of the London 2012 Festival, which is aptly named Britain Creates 2012: Fashion + Art Collusion. Here we see greats such as Mary Katrantzou (who I raved about back in February here ) and Giles Deacon team up with Jeremy Deller and numerous other contemporary artists...

The notion behind it is relates to reinstating that art and fashion can work collaboratively. For any cynics out there, have a look at how Giles Deacon and Jeremy Deller's piece worked out and you'll totally be blown out the water!

PS- I really want a chair from the Heatherwick Studio. So I'm entering the V&A's competition for one... fingers crossed!

all these poorly taken photographs are indeed my own.
